Who Is The Word?

0:00 Hello everybody, welcome once again to Deep Things audio. Yes, and this is episode 2 of Deep Things of his word. So today we are looking at a special question. Who is the word of God? John chapter one verse one in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John chapter one, verse 14 And the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Verse 16. And of his fullness have all we received grace in place of grace already given.

0:56 According to Revelation chapter 19 verse 13, He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the word of God. OK, so the Greeks use the word in two ways. It could mean a person's thoughts or reason, or it may refer to a person's speech, the expression of thoughts. As a philosophical term, Logos here conveyed the rational principle that governed the universe, even the creative energy that generated the universe. So what do I mean by this? In both the Jewish and Greek conceptions, logos conveyed the idea of beginnings.

1:44 The world began through the world where the expression God says occurred repeatedly. Recall in Genesis chapter one, verse 3 and he said, and God said, let there be light, and there was light. OK, Now in the Hebrew language of the Old Testament, the word is described as an agent of creation according to Psalm 33, verse 6, by the word of the Lord. We are the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the break of his mouth. Also the word is described as the source of God's message to His people through the prophets according to Hosea chapter one, verse 2A, the beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea.

2:33 Then finally the word is described as God's law, His standard of holiness according to Psalm 119, verse 11. Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sing against Thee. Now listen to this. God's word is accessible to all in the Bible. The Bible contains the word of God. I think everybody already knows this. And the quality of your Christian work is predicated by the amount of the Word of God that you hear, that you receive, that you believe, and that you engage by faith. A believer thrives in this Kingdom to the degree to which they build confidence in his world.

3:25 Now listen to this. We should prioritize the personal study of God's Word over what anyone tells us about His Word. It's very amazing and beautiful to listen to preachers and listen to sermons. That's very important. I recommend that but also important to have a sustainable personal study of the word of God. Don't just live your life and gather everything you know about God's word from people. Also go and build it. Study personally the Word of God according to Matthew chapter 4 verse 4, and it says man shall not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

4:15 That's the sent word. Now Jesus came as the Word Incarnate, the Logos of the Father. If you can recall the story of the woman with the issue of blood or woman, the bleeding disorder, it's seen in Mark chapter 5 from verse 25 to 34. So because of time, I might not really read it, but I want to just highlight something. The woman did not come to move with the crowd. Her son would say she did not come to play. She invented her own freedom by her faith when she touched the clothes of Jesus. Though if you can note from here, we make contact with the Word of God through our faith.

4:54 The victory of the believer is not tied to anything physical on us. It's not tied to the person's knowledge, connection, wealth or anything. Instead, it is tied to the integrity of God's word. Possibilities in the Kingdom revolves around the speakings of God. So endeavour, you are where the Word of God is, not necessarily where the crowd is. Now the golden question, does the Word of God here refer to Jesus or the Scripture? The golden question of who is the word of God? Who is His word? Now this is the answer.

5:37 Listen carefully. There is the Word as a person that's our Savior Jesus Christ, and there's the Word as the compendium of the thoughts and the speakings of God, and that's the logos containing the Scriptures. So from our anchor scripture, Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12. For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any 2 edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. So although Jesus Christ is called the Word in John chapter one verse, one who came as God's ultimate communication to humanity, the comparison with a sharp sword in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12 indicates that the Word of God here more likely refers to God's revelation in the Bible.

6:40 But Jesus as the Logos reveals God's mind to us. Listen to this. The Word is God, the Word became flesh, and the Word revealed God. The Word of God is also the voice of God. If you recall from our just illustrated story, we contact God's word through our faith, but our faith comes through the word of God according to romance chapter 10, verse 710. Consequently, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God or the word of Christ. Concluding the power of God goes with His word. So if you wanted the power of God, you have to engage His word.

7:33 So as time goes on in this episodes, as in this series of his Word, we'll learn how to engage his word and other parameters and how you can actually get the best of His word or work with His word, understand his word. So when you interact with his word, with God's Word, be expectant for it and also receive it with all your heart. Finally, the Bible is a compendium of the speakings of God.
