Knowing God Through His Word

0:01 Hello everybody, Welcome once again to Deep Teens Audio. And this is episode 14 of Deep Teens of His Word. OK, beautiful. So this is a very interesting episode. You can just enter the song Tamil window zones because they're all interrelated. OK, so as you jump into it, we have a very special guest today. So we had a long session with our guests in the last two episodes.

And then he now obliged us and said to come again. So he's not a person then? OK, Mamad Nasiru. Welcome, Mamad Nasiru, thank you so much for coming. AK AM Ng All right, so welcome, Sir. So today we're looking at knowing God through His Word. So do you think he can know God through His Word? Well, it's possible, but how? So, Sir, that's what we want you to handle today.

1:29 How can we know God through His Word? OK, so I want to say thank. Thank you for another opportunity to share the Word of God. And I think this topic is for me more than for any other person that is going to be hearing this, you know, So I'll start with a simple statement. I trust that God will guide us through this session. So we're in a generation that wants to do things for God but does not want to have a relationship with Him. And this same generation, the Bible has said so many things about it.

2:08 So look at some 2 scriptures. I have two scriptures for that. The first one is Matthew 15, verse 8 to 9. He says, These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honour Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me, and in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. So you see that in this place we could see that their hearts is far away from me. It's showing that there's an absence of something that the Lord is looking for. And we could see them. We could also see it in Matthew Chapter 7, verse 23.

2:45 And then I, I would declare to them, I never knew you depart from me. You who practice lawlessness. You know these people said we did this in your name. We casted out devils and everything, but God came and said you used me. I never knew you, I never had a relationship with you. And so God is looking for a relationship and not service. It's the reason why I started with a relationship, you know, is as we work with God, as we journey with God, when we look at the scriptures, we look at the way God, you know, worked with different people in the scriptures.

3:25 We find out that one of the basic ways to know God is true, having a relationship with him. Now I another important concept you know about this knowing God is in Matthew chapters 4 verse 11. It says now Adam knew his wife and she conceived and borking and said I have acquired a man from the Lord. It means that when this knowledge, when you know God, there will always be a resulting effect and one of those effects is that one a change in beliefs, a change in mindset. 2 It will be production of fruits.

4:06 Your works, you know, will begin to be changed. The Bible said that the word became flesh and it dwell among men full of grace and truth. You know, once there's an encounter with God, they must be a resultant effect. If you say that you know God, then the litmus test of knowing whether you have really encountered God is what can we see the result of Adam knowing his wife is, you know, Kane and Abel and later we could see set and so so when we meet with God, there's something that is supposed to happen.

4:43 So let us look at these scriptures. John chapter 17, verse three. You know, I want us to understand why God is really, really interested in this concept about knowing him. The Bible said and this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. So it means the most important thing is knowing God. Then the next one is second Peter one verse 3. His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him. It means that knowledge gives us access to everything in God.

5:25 Then Philippians chapter 3 was then that I may know Him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being confirmed to him to his death. He also said invest its religious go back. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing what of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage that I may gain Christ. It shows, you know, that the ultimate thing in life is knowing God. I want to say here that the highest level of knowledge a man can ever encounter is the knowledge of God.

6:06 Because a lot of us know, you know, these principles of God, the ways of God, but we never, you know, had the knowledge of God. And that's why the Bible says in Matthew 6 verse 23 that we must seek Him first, you know, not all other things but Him first. And you know, pattern our lives to be right with Him as we discussed in the last episode. So there are 9 points I want us to understand in this place. One, that the knowledge of God is the highest level of knowledge a man can ever attain to. And this knowledge is all that pertains to life and godliness, as we have seen in the scriptures we have read.

6:46 Three. We are supposed to seek Him first, the knowledge of God. Four, we cannot know God until He chooses to reveal Himself to us. Five, God's desire is that we should know Him. He's our Father, and there's no Father that hides himself from his children. Jesus. When he was praying for his disciples, he said that they may know you, the one and true God. Then in six points no one can know everything about God. He's depth at too deep beyond human imagination. There is no one that can know everything about God.

7:24 Then the seven point is knowing God is a lifelong pursuit. In the last episode, we could see how God has sentenced us. You know, he said for all his life he shall read this laws which you saw in the book of Deuteronomy, shall study this law. He must seek this law all the days of his life. And so it means that it is a lifelong pursuit because he's never, never a day. You graduate from knowing God. Every single day you find something different about him. And then the eighth point, we cannot understand God without common sense.

7:59 Come on, God is His spirit. You are a person and you have the body, the soul and the spirit. The reason why God puts the spirit in you is because the means of interacting with Him is through the Spirit. He said they that worship me must worship me in spirit and in truth. So God can only be worshipped. God can only be known in the spirit. Then it is God's Spirit. It is God's Spirit that reveal God's to us. And to know God we must engage the Holy Spirit. So here I want us to see the difference between two key points.

8:40 1 is the knowledge about God versus the knowledge of God. I believe many of us may not have clear understanding about this. You know the knowledge about God is theoretical. You know the names of God, His attributes, his character, his nature, His ways, His principles, and all sorts. You can remember His power to create. You know all these things are you know the knowledge about God. But the second point is that knowing God is an experiential knowledge of God, and you can only know a person when you sit with that person is not a one of mechanism is a consistent process.

9:25 So you must sit with the person, you must work with the person. And that's why when you look at the scripture scattered, you see that Noah worked with God, other people worked with him. You see Abraham, you see the remaining, you know. So knowing God is in an entire different class from the knowledge about God. And it is more superior than the knowledge about God. Because a lot of people may tell you what they know about me, but it's only someone that has stayed with me for a long time that we're able to have the knowledge of me experientially based on how I've interacted with him, based on how I've communicated with him, and based on the kind of things we do together.

10:10 Back to the first point, I made mention that we are in a generation that want to do things for God, but we don't want to work with God. When you look at the book of Genesis chapter 6, you'll begin to see that you know, Noah worked with God before his assignment. The Bible recorded it that he was a just a righteous man is the genealogy of Noah. He was a just a righteous man and he worked with God. Then God now began to give him an assignment. So it is always a walk before the walk. Let me say it, it is the blue ALK before the blue ORK.

10:48 To work with a person, you must be you must be heading the same direction with that person and you must also be in the same, you know, in agreement with that person for a walk you know to happen because the Bible said can 2 work together, except they agree. And so we are in a generation that prioritizes walk of our work. All right, So how can we know God? This is the main, you know, meat of the matter. One is true, a relationship with him. And I think I've emphasized it over and over. I want to read Genesis chapter 6 verse 9, which I quoted earlier.

11:26 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generation. Noah walked with God. One of the ways we can know God is by walking with him know, by agreeing with him, by sitting under him, and by joining true life together with him. One of the reason why I know that God is a protector, and I gave him the name the Lord my protector is because I've seen him deliver me from death. I've seen him deliver me from ghastly accidents is an experiential knowledge. This one is not what they said God can provide.

12:03 I know that God is a provider is not that God can provide. He is a provider and so when you work with God, you begin to experience the knowing of him. Then in James chapter 4 verse 8, it says draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts. You double minded. So God wants us to draw near to him. What is he looking for? He's looking for a relationship. See from the creation of man. Man was never created to be independent and you know the deceit of independence was the greatest deceit that has ever happened in human time.

12:45 The Satan told man that you know if you eat this fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, you become like who you become like God and you know good and if you can survive on your own. What God created man to be dependent on him. God created man to be in partnership in him. He said something in the book of is it efficiency where his workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which he has created, you know, which he has prepared for us from the beginning that we should work in it. So you want to know God become his friend, you know, stay with him, sit with him.

13:23 And when God is making statement to Abraham like that, He also make it to you. Is there anything that I can hide from my servants Nasiru and he begins to unravel his secrets. So friendship with God, though we are supposed to be friends with God and, you know, and enemies with the world, not the opposite way, not to be friends with the world and enemies of God. And once we are friends with this world, we are indirectly enemies of God. One way we can know God is true, having a relationship with him, God will begin to reveal himself to us.

13:59 And the second point is, you know, we cannot go through the Scriptures. Now this same God that wants to know be in a relationship, in friendship with us, sent us a love letter, which is the Scriptures. Now the Scriptures are all talking about God. If you want to know God, we have to come to the person of Jesus and all Scripture points us to Jesus. Now, when you start from the beginning, where man fell from the garden, you know, the Garden of Eden, it is a presence. You know, Eden is a presence, is not a location, it's not a place.

14:36 So God sent money away from the garden and from there we could see that a prophecy, God released a word and said that the offspring of this woman, you know, will bruise your head and then you shall strike his heel. He was talking about Jesus from that same point. And so every single history that continued, you know, was talking about Jesus. See, let me let me bring something about Jesus. You see how the earth was condemned with flood in Matthew Chapter 7 and Genesis Chapter 7 is trying to point out, you know something about Jesus also there for us that Jesus is the ark and only if we can enter into that ark, we are going to be what we are going to be saved because this earth and everything in it is going to be destroyed.

15:28 This is pointing us to Jesus. Look at the story of Abraham. You know when God asked him to sacrifice his son. That story is also pointing us to Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God. He said go and sacrifice your Son, your only son. And God also has one son, the only begotten Son. So when you look at the Bible is scattered, you see, no, not scattered is orderly arranged and it is illustrating Jesus. And the message of the Scriptures is the message about Jesus and it is the message of redemption. So it is chronologically arranged.

16:08 And even when redemption happened, you know, it happened at a time when God really wanted it to happen because at that same time when Jesus came, he started preaching about the Kingdom. And by restoring us back to the Kingdom that was the message is not to create another religion. The emphasis of God is to what restore us back to the original thing he created. They let us make man in our own image and after our own likeness and let them have dominion. And so we fell from that place. We we fell from that point.

16:44 And So what Jesus came to do was to restore us back to our original purpose, back to, you know, to God. So in John chapter 5, verse 39 to 14, he said you study the scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very scriptures that tested testify about me. Yet you refuse to come to me to have life. You see that again, it's the relationship we are looking for. So one way to know God is to look at the man Jesus is to look at the scriptures. Jesus is not just in the New Testament, He's in every page of the Bible.

17:22 And so we have to settle down and begin to look at him. Then look chapter 24, verse 27 says and beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expanded with them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself, beginning with who? With Moses, who wrote Genesis in Moses. So from beginning to the end, everything written about the Scriptures point us to the person who Jesus and Jesus is. God is one with God. How can we truly know God from his scriptures? Jesus said in John chapter 14 verse 7, if you had known me, you will have known my Father also and from now on you know him and have seen him because Thomas was asking Jesus in this scripture John chapter 14 verse seven that show us the Father and Jesus.

18:12 If you have seen, you have seen the Father. Then Colossians chapter one verse 15 says Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the first born of our creation. Hebrews chapter one verse one to two says God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time passed to the fathers by the prophets, has in this last days spoken to us by his Son, whom He has appointed here of all things, through whom also He made the world. So it is true, Jesus, that we understand God, that we understand God clearly.

18:48 There are many other ways, you know, there are many ways we can know God. And the knowledge of God, knowledge basically is classified into, I think two or three. You know, we have the knowledge of God, you know, the knowledge of the principles of God and the knowledge of the ways of God. And out of all these things that you know, the knowledge of God, as we said earlier, is the highest level of knowledge. I want us to consider these things the first Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 says, but as it is written, eyes has not seen nor ear head nor have entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love him.

19:28 So what is your question? This is found in first Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 and KJV. But is a question how can we love someone we don't trust and how can we trust someone we don't know? And what's the proof of our obedience? Without trusts, then how can we experience someone who we don't obey? So our journey to knowing God, as described by I Saw this about Jane Willand, begins with knowing Him. And after knowing Him, we begin to trust him. Because when you know somebody, when somebody, an entire stranger, comes and asks you to do something, you will likely not do it.

20:07 But when you stay with the person you begin to know the person you begin to form trust. About that same person and when you begin to form trust about the person, you begin to obey him. So after you know experiencing him, then you begin to love him and the more you love the person, the more you want to know the person and that's how it is also with knowing God. All right, so and so how do we know God is divided into 3 according to this. You know that one that one is that when we make a commitment to know him through his word through searching him in every passage of the Bible.

20:49 So when we go back to the Scriptures, our attitude is not different when you pick up a chapter, ask God what reveal yourself to me from this scripture. What can I know about you? Because sometimes we just want to learn heavy things from scripture lessons. I will still go and feel God at the end of the time, but what He wants is knowing. Because when you know a person, you begin to obey. It is not by knowing the instructions, is not by knowing the laws, is by knowing the person of the law. But when you know the person of the law, you begin to obey the person because trust has already been formed.

21:29 The next thing is to make a commitment to living the world and becoming right with Him so that we'll be able to know Him more. Obedience. We have highlighted that if we don't obey, that chain is broken. Because you when you know God, you begin to form trust and you begin to obey and you begin to experience Him. And when you experience Him, you need to love Him. And the more you love a person, the more you want to know Him more than the last one is teaching the world to others so that they can know God more.

22:02 The more you teach the world, the more you find out that you don't know about God and the more you want to know him more, the more you teach the world, the more you know him It it pushes you to go and you know, learn more about this God and you know, learning about God is enjoyable. Let me just before I round off. I was we wrote Pediatrics and RNG for our 4th MBBS earlier and there was this particular you know, some days like that anytime I wake up to read and I say, you know, seek ye first the Kingdom of God.

22:34 Let me start with the Bible. No study them. I found out that there was this wooing spirit that used to woo me like I will stay on that scripture. Rhema will be flowing lessons will be understanding insights. You know, studying God's word is enjoyable and I wanted to give it a try. If you have not studied the Bible yet, no Sit down, read through the pages of the Bible. Decide to seek this God through the pages of the Bible and at each page ask Him. Lord, reveal yourself to me. What can I know about you in this place?

23:09 Because it is only what you know about God that we believe our our actions are a product of our belief, are the product of the things we believe. And so I want us to really trust God, to really spend time with him and also know Him so that we'll be able to know him better and do the things that He has asked us to do in Jesus name.

23:31 Well, I know so profound. Thank you so much, Sir. Like that's when they said I stood up for me. I think I would just say them. So you are like, it's always the work before the work. And it actually made a lot of sense to me because maybe we want to work but forget about the work. And then there's something like my street train was speaking. So knowing about God is different from knowing God where one is an experiential knowledge, the other one is a theoretical knowledge. So when we have experiential knowledge of God, we actually see all the transformations and evidences of knowing God.

Thank you and Ng for reasons Sir, we are maintaining to tell us any final. Words all right, so my final word for us is we created for a reason. We created for a purpose. We are not our own. We are owned by God, but apart from just, you know, being owned by him. You know, God created us to be, you know, vice agent, to be in control, in dominion with him. And we fell from the very beginning in Genesis chapter 3.

24:50 And we inherited that nature in Genesis chapter 5 because Adam began to bore children in his own image, not in the image of God. And that's how we took the image of Adam. And you know, but glory be to God, Christ came, He saved us, He delivered us, and he's restoring us back to himself. So one of the things I really urge us to do is to begin to seek this God, to seek his Kingdom, as the Bible has also said in the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verse 33, to seek him to understand our place in the Kingdom, to understand you, God the King, the Lord, and our place, the Kingdom and our place in the Kingdom so that the will of God will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
