What Has God Promised You? Part 1

0:16 deserved break, a little retreat and recalibration for the new

0:20 year. Well, guess what?

0:22 Now we are back. It's a new episode with respect

0:27 to the season, the New year season.

0:32 So welcome to episode 6 of Deep Teens of His Word.

0:38 On today's episode, you'll be highlighting some promises from

0:41 the scriptures, promises for each situation.

0:45 So what has he promised you? There are a lot of promises in

0:51 the Bible we won't be able to exhaust all in one place like

0:56 this episode. So we will surely have a follow

1:00 up for this particular topic. So without further delay, let's

1:04 get into it. Number one, promise of

1:10 protection. So I'll be talking about the

1:14 three PS PPPs promises. OK, so #1 promise of protection.

1:24 Isaiah chapter 4 to one verse 10.

1:27 It says so do not fear, for I am with you.

1:34 Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

1:37 I will strengthen you and help you.

1:39 I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1:43 So when we are paralysed with fear and unable to stand, our

1:47 ever present protector has promised to uphold us and

1:52 strengthen us. This promise is also a command.

1:56 God has declared He will surround us with his care when

2:02 anxiety strikes, but He also challenges us to place our full

2:07 confidence in his world. So this year we must choose to

2:14 focus on his faithfulness and stop feeding our fears.

2:19 OK, so I want to tell this story.

2:22 So a couple of years ago. This is just to portrays that

2:26 when we let fear in, it attracts other spirits with it.

2:31 Say a couple of years ago not to like 2 years.

2:35 Three years ago I was writing an exam, second MBBS exam.

2:40 Honestly, I prepared for it, but one way or the other I let fear

2:44 get the upper hand. I experienced what we call

2:48 frozen with fear in right in the exam hall.

2:51 OK, so in situations like this it only takes God's mercy to

2:55 succeed. Well, because I later realized

2:58 God's mercy and I utilized His grace over my life and God

3:03 tradition not of mercy, I succeeded.

3:06 But instead of you trying to look for a way out, why not just

3:11 hold on to His help? Why not just feel confident that

3:16 God can do it instead of letting fear dictate what you can do

3:22 right? OK, so please focus on God's

3:28 faithfulness and stop feeding your fears.

3:32 Alright #2 promise of preservation.

3:37 Colossians chapter one, verse 15 to 16.

3:42 The sun is the image of the invisible God, the first born

3:46 over all creation. For in Him all things we are

3:51 created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invincible,

3:57 whether Thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all

4:01 things have been created through Him and for Him.

4:05 Now verse 17, He existed before anything was made, and now

4:12 everything finds completion in Him.

4:16 OK. So when we speak on

4:17 preservation, it means to maintain something throughout,

4:21 to keep intact now as a promise from God.

4:27 God holds the whole world in His hands, including our current

4:32 mess. You may see chaos in some dark

4:35 corners, but Christ is divinely ordering every detail in His

4:43 masterful design for your total makeover.

4:47 So you can trust Him with whatever looks messy right now

4:52 because you are a work in progress.

4:55 Say to yourself, I am a work in progress.

4:58 Thank you. Is it your relationship with

5:03 people or maybe your career or your finances or even your life

5:08 that looks like a mistake or maybe you've made mistakes that

5:12 look irreparable and you destroy someone's trust.

5:16 A promise from God is that He will preserve you.

5:20 He is the architect of the universe and He is building you

5:28 into a beautiful masterpiece. So He's the summons, holding

5:34 together every brick of your life.

5:37 So just hand Him those shattered pieces and He is faithful to

5:41 complete the work He has started in you now #3 promise of

5:46 provision. I know sometimes people are in

5:49 need of many things and I'm like, is there a promise for

5:52 this? Yes, there is.

5:54 Philippians chapter 4 verse 19. But my God shall supply all my

6:00 needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

6:06 Again. But my God shall supply all your

6:09 needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

6:15 Next is Second Corinthians Chapter 9 verse 8.

6:19 And God is able to make all grace abound towards you, that

6:24 ye always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to

6:30 every good work. So we can trust that God will

6:34 always meet our needs. Whatever we actually need on us,

6:38 He shall always supply, even if, like Paul, it is the courage to

6:44 face death. We must remember, however, the

6:48 difference between our wants and our needs.

6:53 Most people want to feel good and avoid discomfort and pain is

6:57 it's not a bad thing. We may not get all we want, but

7:03 by trusting in Christ our attitudes and appetite can

7:07 change from wanting everything to accepting his provision and

7:12 power to leave for Him. Also according to Luke chapter 8

7:16 verse 38, which says give and to be giving, you a good measure,

7:22 pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured

7:26 into your lap for the measure you use it to be measured to

7:31 you. Christians who give back to God

7:34 will lack nothing. God's favour, that is his grace

7:38 will be showered on people who give.

7:41 They will have everything they need in the various situations

7:44 in which they find themselves today.

7:47 There's something I always hear it's you don't have to give

7:55 right? You give to have.

7:57 So it's not from the abundance of what you have that you give.

8:01 It's even from the manual of anything you have that you give.

8:05 Recall the story of the widow's mite.

8:08 She had just that last penny, right?

8:13 That last coin, that lights money, that last resources, that

8:17 last equipment that has anything and she gave it.

8:22 Unlike people that have a lot and they not give their minimum.

8:26 That's not what they mean by give and it be given to you.

8:30 But listen, the purpose of God's overwhelming blessing is always

8:35 to equip his people to do every good work.

8:40 This doesn't imply that Christian giving is a contract

8:43 with God. We're the one who gives, get no.

8:47 Instead, it says that God will provide whatever a Christian

8:51 needs to do good. So you can be confident that

8:55 everything you need will be provided by God.

9:00 I possibly say Christian. So you know that this promise is

9:03 only to those that are in light, those that have received the

9:09 life of Christ and those that know who Christ is.

9:13 This promises is not for everybody.

9:16 It's for the believers, those that profess Christ as their

9:21 Lord and Savior. OK, finally, promise of safety.

9:28 Last but not least for today's episode only Psalm 9 to one,

9:32 verse 4. He will cover you with His

9:35 feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.

9:40 His faithfulness will be a shield and rampant.

9:45 When we are under attack, we can trust that God will protect us.

9:52 God shelters us from the enemy like a mother hen tenderly

9:56 covering her baby cheeks with her wing.

10:00 His truth and faithfulness shield us from all the arrows of

10:05 opposition heading away. You are safe in God's care.

10:10 He is faithful to keep His promises.

10:13 You can trust that He will extend His grace to cover you

10:17 today. So to end this song, I am under

10:23 the shadow of your wings. Your influence is all over me.

10:39 Your influence is all over me. So that's the three piece and an

10:56 S of his promises. We will have a follow up on this

11:07 Note, when you read his word you gain perception or knowledge.

11:13 When you study his word you gain understanding.

11:17 And when you meditate on his words that word becomes flesh

11:22 which will translate to take over your mind leading to
