Obedience Or What?
Are all your actions in line with God's heartbeat?
Are you prioritising the work over the walk?
"But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams." (1 Samuel 15:22 NIV)

Hello everybody, welcome us again to deep this audio.
This is episode 11 of the details of his word and we are
very happy to have you here with us.
We have gone so far. That's episode 1 to 10 and this
is 11. How many have you listened to?
Ask your neighbor how many of the things of His word have you
listened to? OK, I'm very sure they say then
OK, praise God. So today we are looking at a
very amazing topic. Before we talk about our topic,
this invites our guests. So with a round of applause.
Again, very welcome. Hi my name is.
Uchi. Hi, Uchi, welcome once again.
We're very happy to have you. Thank you.
We're happy you came again. I'm happy to to be here.
All right, thank you. So our topic today is obedience
or what are you dancing or what? Obedience or what?
OK, so obedience or what? What does that mean?
So it's obedience to God's Word, so important, obviously as
important as sacrifices. You know, sometimes you
sacrifice your time in church. You want to do a lot for the
Lord. You're giving out your money.
Is it that important as sacrifice?
OK, you know what? I'm not going to answer it.
We have our special guest, Uchi to answer it.
So Uchi, what do you understand by the whole concept of the
comedians to God? What more important than the
sacrifices you offer? Thank you.
OK, obedience and sacrifice. I believe this line.
He came from Scripture, first Samuel 15.
That was somewhere over Saul, when the Lord had sent Saul to
burn, to go to war, and, you know, kill everything.
And Saul left the king, and then some livestock and some of their
finest stuff, and Saul came back with it with the intent to
sacrifice his unto God. Samuel meets Saul verse 19, and
verse #15 he said, So wherefore then did thou not obey the voice
of the Lord, but this fire upon upon the spoil, and did even the
sight of the Lord? And Saul said unto Samuel, Yeah,
I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and I've gone the way
which the Lord sent me, and I brought AKA the king of Amalek,
and I've utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
Verse 21 He said, But the people took the spoil, sheep, and oxen,
and sheep of the things which should have been utterly
destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in deogal.
So Samuel said, has the Lord as great delight in bond,
offerings, and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the
fat of Rams. God is not almighty.
You know the God that we are serving more than some
sacrifices, more than the things we do for him.
He wants us. What He wants is us.
There's no doubt God that wants a relationship with you, a deep
relationship with you. You want to have a relationship
with God as close as that of the Christian.
There's no doubt God, God of the Bible.
So to him it's not about what you are doing for him.
It's about your status with him, your relationship with him, your
ability to obey him. So God treasures your
relationship with him more than more than the things you are
doing for him. And so Jesus will make his
statements that I will call the scariest verse of Scripture for
me. Is it not everybody that calls
me Lord? Lord, is it on that day he would
say to them, depart from me. They say, oh Lord, the
prophesied in your name, we'll cast out demons.
Your name, we give 10 billion in your name.
We'll spend the billions in your name and the rest of them.
But you say get away from me. I do not know you.
That new day is the Greek word genuscom.
It means intimate knowledge. So beyond prophesying and doing
things for God, beyond doing things for God is your
relationship with God. Why God prefers obedience to
sacrifice his relationship. I don't want these things.
Stop burning this goat. It's it's not that he's craving
BBQ. These things that are burning is
not what gives him joy. The center of his joy is man's
ability to yield and obey him. That's what he wants.
And so unlike us, when we come to our father, I go to my
father, you know, and This is why I greet him.
Just we just say how much is he where I greet my dad and I say
how much. There's no need to ask me.
What are you here for? Daddy, Daddy.
Daddy, how much do you want? Can you be plain already?
Because He knows that this great thing is normal.
That's not how God is. That's not how God wants us to
be with Him. No.
And God desires that when we are fellowshipping with Him, we're
not reaching for His hand, we're reaching for His heart.
We are reaching for Him, not the things that He can give.
That's what He wants from us to and that's what we should expect
from Him. So God desires a relationship, a
relationship more than the things that we are doing for
Him. Sacrifice now may not be buying
ram and cattle to burn on a mountain.
Sacrifice now can be your time in church.
Sacrifice now can be the things they are doing for the Lord.
God is scary, he can suck you and still keep you in office.
Because of this thing is sacked so sacked him but still left him
in the office. So he can be working for God and
not working with God. You can be working for God and
not walking with God and that's why he prefers the latter
walking with God. Let's look at the man after
God's own heart, David Psalm 51 and verse 16.
He says for thou desirest not sacrifice, else I will just give
it to you. Thou delightest not in burnt of
him. The sacrifices of God are a
broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart.
Oh God, thou will not despise. So what God is really looking
for is not the things that you are doing for him, what God
really wants from you and not the things that are doing for
Him. God is more handicapped.
If you died 1000 more rice, he said.
Even if you don't want to praise me, all the stones of the earth
would praise me. I don't need you.
I don't need you to do these things.
What I want from you, what I want from you is a relationship.
What I want from you is some mission, You deadness,
obedience. That's what I want.
So beyond your service, am I saying don't serve?
By no means. It's as you're serving.
There's a hard posture with which you serve God because I
love him, because I love him, because I love Him, and not just
because I want to do things for God.
You can do things for God and God will still reject you.
If you go to the Old Testament, when the Israelites in against
God, He will raise another nation to come and destroy them.
But after that nation finished working for God, God will still
can punish those nations for touching His beloved.
Beyond working for Him, you must walk with Him.
God desires your relationship more than the things you have to
offer Him. If you go to all these idols,
whether those are, oh, drop the money, drop this one and go, you
accepted no God. Shift all those money aside.
I want your heart. Is it my Son?
Give me your heart, Give me your heart.
Don't give me your money. Don't give me it's not your
money. I want your heart, your heart,
your heart. That's what God really wants.
Saul was looking at God as somebody that he could use
things to please. No, no, no, no, no, no.
If he gives you an instruction, don't be creative about it.
If he tells you to do something, don't be creative about it.
What he wants is obedience. And so the reason why obedience
is better than sacrifice is that God desires your relationship
with us more than the things that we can do for Him.
Thank you so much. You see when you are speaking,
something came to mind and doesn't actually started.
It was like so God does not see as men see.
He sees the hearts of men see, you know, the physical and he
just occurred to me that men to men who are president of some
fellowship. I'm not saying it's a bad thing,
but they see a president and the Lord might be seeing someone
that is currently in office, but he had been sacked.
Like you said, God can suck you and still keep you in office.
So I was still king, but we knew who the right king at that time
was when he was already rejected by God came.
So and that thing that also came to my spirit was it's not about
what you do for God but your stance with him.
OK so I have a question for you. So how do I know if I'm doing
something for God in line with His heartbeat, in line with what
He wants from me? How do I know that what I'm
currently doing now is exactly what He would want me to do and
not just doing for the apple of men because it makes it no good?
OK, you can test it with priority when things don't go as
planned. What really irks you?
Like, you're a choir leader, all right?
And something happens, things don't go as planned.
What's what is really annoying you?
Is it because your your skill failed or because we are really
sad that this thing did not touch the lives of men the way
it should have touched them? That's how you test.
You can test it with priority. What is your motive?
Yes, that's the word. What is the motive behind this
thing? That's it, motive.
That's it. If you get the motive right, God
said I the Lord, I search the heart.
I the Lord, I look at the heart. I don't look at physical things.
So more than the things that you are doing is your motive.
Your motive can corrupt what you are doing, Your motive before
God can corrupt what you are doing, the service you are
rendering to God. And again the Holy Spirit bears
witness that we are children of God.
If you are really doing something that is Sweeting
Jesus, you will know inside there's this joy.
You know you're not just doing it so that pastor will be happy.
You know you're doing it for Jesus.
Motive, motive. What is your motive for doing
this thing? When you get your motive right,
then service becomes holy. When you get your motive right,
service becomes sanctified. You now know that this thing
you're doing, I'm really doing it for God.
And your relationship with God, that thing you, you, that thing
you're doing flows from your relationship with God.
So you see many people, they're singing in the choir, but then
they're singing out of technicality, so they lose the
presence of God and still retain skill.
The service they are doing flows from your relationship with God.
So your motive must be checked. Why are you doing this?
Why are you doing this? So if you can get that right, I
think that settles it. Motif.
Thank you so much and I don't know I feel it answers the
second question I have in mind then just ask it if it does,
then we work with that. OK, so also that same background
for people that work in organizations, associations,
maybe Christian organization or you know likewise fellowship
also following a lay down protocol sequence test program
can need distance someone from good to do.
God is a God of structure. How do I know when he was
created? During creation, He put the seed
of everything in itself. So he automated creation.
He didn't have to come and do it again.
He likes structure. He likes orderliness.
But then sometimes we can organize the Holy Spirit out of
the church. We can plan him out of the
church such that when you see that the Holy Ghost is moving
beyond our plan, our original plan, you try to wrap up the
service that, oh, it's time to close the service, but you know
that this is the Holy Spirit movie, so that's organizing him
out of the church. Planning.
You cannot see planning as an idol.
You cannot see the thing they are doing for God as an idol.
That's why the first thing must be your relationship with Him.
The moment you get that place wrong, you now set structures
that are that are not spirit LED.
That's how you start disobeying him because he's no longer the
governor of your heart. The thing that you are doing for
him does not flow out of your relationship because how do you
really know when you want to disrupt the scheme of things
when you are not in alignment with Him?
That's why I said everything that you are doing for him must
flow from a relationship with him.
So we can organize the Holy Spirit out of the church.
Oh, Holy Spirit, move from 8:00 to 10:00.
Once it's 10 AM, please stop all your activities.
We must close the church by 10 AM.
You see, he's no longer Lord. And who says that when he comes,
he's not orderly? He's the Spirit of God, so he's
orderly that sometimes he wants to take over the service.
Give him rule to take over the service.
If he was really Lord, you will let him.
That's why we now know who is Lord, the Holy Ghost or the
plans I have made for service. So planning is good, structure
is good. God loves our darliness.
But then we must be careful that those plans are still subject to
the leading of the Holy Spirit. When we remove our priority from
our relationship with God and start focusing on structures, we
miss Him. Well, thank you so much.
I learnt a lot. And you're right, you're very
right. What else we do, we should never
organise the Holy Ghost out of our plans.
Even in planning your own life and purpose and everything you
want to do, who is involving, engaging?
Amen. Hallelujah.
So thank you so much for this once again, Uchi, really
appreciate. God bless you.
All right, so to all our listeners out there, so
endeavour to go through this episode again and I pray that
the Lord will help you as you engage him in everything you do
in Jesus name, Amen. All right, bye bye.
God bless you.
